Markus Hartmann serves as the Senior Vice President, Legal for Slingshot Aerospace, a leader in AI-powered space data and analytics. With over 30 years of professional practice, he brings extensive experience in corporate governance and legal innovation to the company. Before joining Slingshot, Hartmann held senior leadership roles across the technology, consumer products, and pharmaceutical sectors, including serving as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for two public companies. He also served as a technical compliance officer within the automotive research and development industry. Prior to his legal career, Hartmann was a helicopter pilot in the United States Marine Corps, serving in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Following law school, he continued his service in the Marine Corps Reserves as a judge advocate, eventually retiring at the rank of Colonel after more than 30 years of total service. Hartmann holds a bachelor's degree from Colorado College, a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School, and an MBA from Le Moyne College. He is also a Six Sigma Green Belt and holds a professional certificate in Generative AI for the Legal Profession.
